The proceedings were well underway, when just before trial, Golden Sands ran out of enough money to continue with its action. Golden Sands approached IMF to fund its case.
Where a case is very close to trial (and therefore is likely to be resolved within a short period of time), IMF will consider providing funding, even though the size of the claim is below IMF's usual limits. Golden Sands fell within this category. |
